Quick Traffic Tips for Internet Marketers

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Traffic generation is something that every internet marketer must do. The sad truth is that just having a great website is not enough. It’s absolutely necessary to build a reason into your site for people to want to spend more than 30 seconds there. Creating traffic to your site isn’t rocket science, but it’s something you need to learn how to do… plus it takes work and time. It’s necessary to devote time each day to marketing – among other things, traffic generation. If your site and content are worthy enough, in time people may start talking about it, and you’ll get some word of mouth advertising for your site. But for now, we’ll discuss some methods you can use today to begin seeing more traffic.

Press releases are powerful, if done right. Distributing press releases is so easy, the web is filled with sites for that purpose. As with most everything else, you can find sites that charge for premium distribution, and others are free to use. It’s possible that your PR can get used by online/offline media outlets, but it has to be well-written and the product needs to be good. With a good press release, your traffic levels could explode! Of course if your site converts, you could get hundreds of sales very quickly.

Another strategy is to be a guest writer on blogs or sites. Article directories are fine, but if you can get your content onto an independent blog, you will be able to tap into that blog’s existing audience. If your content is good and written well, people will be inclined to check you out. One important thing is to get your writing published on well-respected sites/blogs ideally that have authority. If you take the time and establish a positive relationship with these site owners, it will help a great deal to get published.

Create profiles for yourself on social media networks. Facebook, MySpace and other such sites can be very powerful marketing tools, so don’t neglect them! Since these are social rather than marketing sites, you may be skeptical about their use, but if you learn how they operate you can use them to attract hordes of traffic and sales! Take a look at the profiles others in your niche have created and learn for yourself what works and what doesn’t. As you meet people who are interested in what you have to offer, you can gain a following, some of whom will become regular buyers of your products!

There are literally hundreds of ways to create traffic to your site. Depending on what you do, it can be an ongoing process that must be tended to all the time. Every day, it’s smart to put time into creating backlinks and traffic. There’s so much to do, and that will help make it less boring. So maybe just think in terms of the money those efforts will bring you.
